In the Age of the Holy Spirit in Whose Name Should We Pray?

Is It Wrong to Pray in the Name of Christ Ahnsahnghong?

If you were to search for a specific person or object online, knowing the correct name is important for getting a response. This applies to prayer as well; when we pray to God, we must pray in the correct name.

The World Mission Society Church of God prays in the name of Christ Ahnsahnghong. However, many churches will insist that it is wrong because they pray in the name of Jesus Christ.  Is it wrong for the Church of God to pray in this way? Let us study the Bible further to understand this correctly and know in whose name we should be praying.

Psalms 116: 4 ” Then I called on the name of the Lord: ‘Lord, save me!”

In the age of the Father, the name that was used for prayer was Jehovah. Thus, at the time of Jesus, many of the Jews prayed to Jehovah. However, the disciples all prayed in the name of Jesus Christ. Are the disciples wrong for praying in the name of Jesus and not in the name of Jehovah?

John 16:24 ” Until now you have not asked for anything in  my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete”

Jesus was giving the disciples instructions on prayer. He said, “Until now you have not asked for anything in my name.” What does this mean? The disciples, until that point, had still been praying in the name of Jehovah. Jesus Christ was telling them to pray in His name for their prayers to be heard.

When it was no longer the age of the Father, the name of Jehovah was no longer used for prayer because the age had changed. Similarly, we are not in the age of the Son but are living in the age of the Holy Spirit. When we pray, we should use the name of the Saviour, in the age we are living in, the name of Christ Ahnsahnghong.

We Must Know the Saviour’s Name

Prayer is a very important factor for our faith; it is likened to the breath for our souls. When we pray, we speak with God, ask for strength, and ask for faith and guidance. Ultimately, knowing the name of the Saviour is important for our prayer to be received and for our faith in God to grow and become stronger.

John 14:12-14 “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.”

Jesus Christ taught the disciples to pray in His name when He went back to heaven: “I will do whatever you ask in my name.” He taught that after He ascended to heaven, the disciples should pray in His name.

It is the same with the name, Christ Ahnsahnghong. While He was on the earth, we did not pray in His name, but it was only after He had ascended that we began to pray in His name, just as the disciples did 2000 years ago.

In conclusion, when the World Mission Society Church of God prays in the name of Christ Ahnsahnghong, it is correct because He is the Saviour who has come in the age of the Holy Spirit.
