Is the Bible Just a Book Written by Men?

Did Men Write the Bible With Their Own Thoughts?
2 Samuel 23:2 The Spirit of the Lord spoke through me; his word was on my tongue.
2 Peter 1:20-21 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
The verses above both testify that the Prophets as well as the Apostles were moved by the Spirit of God when they wrote the prophecies. They further emphasize that the Bible is not the interpretation of the Prophets nor the Apostles but they spoke from God. This makes it clear that the true author of the Bible is God.
A Rich Man and His Lawyer
There was a rich man who called his lawyer to write his will for him. He spoke all the contents of his will and the lawyer wrote his will for him. Who is the true author of the will? Is it the rich man or the rich man’s lawyer? The will contains the thoughts and will of the rich man not the thoughts and will of the lawyer. Therefore, the true author of the will is the rich man.
In the same manner, God spoke His thoughts and His will to the Prophets and Apostles and they wrote it down. Who is the true author of the Bible? Is it the Prophets and Apostles or is it God? Let us find the answer in the book of 2 Timothy.
2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
The verse above certifies that all scripture is God-breathed. This means that the Bible contains the thoughts of God and the will of God. Hence, the true author of the Bible is God.
How Can We Know If the Words Written in the Bible Are Truly From God?
Deuteronomy 18:22 If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed.
According to the above verse in Deuteronomy, if what a Prophet proclaims does not take place, that message was not spoken by God. Oppositely, if what a Prophet or an Apostle wrote takes place, that message was spoken by God. What does all this teach us? It teaches us that we can believe that the words written in the Bible are from God when we see the prophecies being fulfilled.
The Bible contains many prophecies and God has fulfilled them one by one. Since what God spoke came true in reality, there is no question that the true author of the Bible is God. The book of Revelation 5 verse 1-5 also attests that only God the Root of David can give us the correct interpretation of the Bible. In closing, the insistence that the Bible is merely a book written by men’s thoughts is false. God is the true author of the Bible. Let us absolutely believe the Bible and keep in step with the Bible prophecies and their fulfillment so that we may be saved.
